In Kazakhstan, the growth of maritime transport and the development of port infrastructure are being discussed.

A meeting on the development of the maritime industry was held under the chairmanship of Zhanibek Tayzhanov, head of the Committee for Railway and Water Transport of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Representatives of the Aktau and Kuryk seaports, KTZ, Kazmortransflot, the Maritime Administration and other relevant structures took part in the discussion.

Tayzhanov emphasized the need for timely implementation of the President’s instructions to strengthen the potential of maritime transport. Participants noted the positive results of the Aktau port and the growth of container traffic along the Trans-Caspian route. In the first half of 2025, 4.5 million tons of cargo were handled through Kazakhstan’s ports – 25% more than in the same period in 2024.

The progress of the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of Maritime Infrastructure, approved as part of the Address of the Head of State, was also reviewed. Following the meeting, specific instructions were given for the further expansion and modernization of the industry.
