Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will build an industrial and logistics center on the border.

The Industrial Cooperation Center “Central Asia” will appear on the border of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The bill on ratification of the intergovernmental agreement was approved by the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan. The new hub will be located next to the automobile checkpoints “Atameken” and “Gulistan”, providing convenient logistics between the two countries.

The center will occupy 100 hectares, evenly distributed between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, and the launch will take place in the first half of 2027. The project is aimed at developing trade, industrial production and transit opportunities in the region.

They plan to attract 27 billion tenge ($52.2 million) in private investment for the implementation of the center. According to the Minister of Trade of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliyev, the facility will become an important platform for cooperation between enterprises of the two countries and will significantly strengthen economic cooperation in Central Asia.
