Kazakhstan counts on Germany’s support in developing the TITR

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed hope for Germany’s support in connecting the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route to the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) and the Global Gateway strategy. He said this at a meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and Germany.

Tokayev also noted the growth of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Germany and stressed that Kazakhstan is ready to increase exports to Germany by 100 commodity items worth a total of $850 million.

“Further development of the Middle Corridor opens up broad investment prospects, including the modernization and digitalization of the Caspian Sea ports, and the construction of cargo terminals. Further integration of the transport and logistics systems of Central Asia and Europe remains an urgent task. Kazakhstan welcomes the decision of European partners to allocate 10 billion euros within the Global Gateway program for the development of the Middle Corridor. We count on Germany’s assistance in connecting this route to the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) and the Global Gateway strategy,” Tokayev noted.

In addition, Kazakhstan plans to increase the volume of oil supplies to the German market, which will be an important step in strengthening energy cooperation between the two countries.
