Kedentransservis, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan Railways, and the German transport and logistics company Hamburger Hafen und Logistik (HHLA) have signed an agreement to provide freight forwarding services and develop multimodal terminals in Kazakhstan and abroad.
The agreement provides for the shipment of 1,000 TEU of cellulose along the Shymkent-Poti route across the Caspian Sea by the end of 2024. It is also planned to transport 400 TEU of Philip Morris Kazakhstan products from Almaty to Poti and 280 TEU along the Istanbul-Poti-Almaty route.
These initiatives are aimed at developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), which helps strengthen transport infrastructure and economic ties between the countries of the region.
