Kazlogistics and GIZ discussed the launch of a new EU program for the development of the Trans-Caspian corridor.

In Astana, the Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan “Kazlogistics” held a working meeting with representatives of GIZ, Expertise France and the EU delegation to discuss the new EU program for the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TCTC). Representatives of JSC NC “KTZ” and KTZ Express also participated in the discussion.

The EU program is aimed at strengthening transport links and improving the regulatory framework in five Central Asian countries – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Particular attention is paid to the harmonization of customs procedures, the development of sustainable transport, gender-sensitive reforms and support for public-private partnerships.

Kazlogistics, together with international partners, discussed issues of tariff policy, the use of infrastructure assets and sustainable development mechanisms. The parties confirmed their readiness for close cooperation to strengthen the role of the TCTC as a key link in transport communications between Europe and Central Asia.
