Kombiverkehr plans a revised operational scheme for rail freight flows between Germany and Spain as the 2025/2026 timetable approaches. The company shifts toward two consolidation points: Ludwigshafen KTL on the German side and Barcelona Morrot in Spain. These will handle all loading units moving by rail on this corridor.

The updated plan includes eleven weekly round trips between Ludwigshafen and Barcelona. From Barcelona, trains will continue onward to Madrid and Constantí, running three times per week in each direction. Köln-Eifeltor will be linked directly with Ludwigshafen, with four weekly services both ways. According to the operator, this structure will allow a transition from multi-group to single-group trains on several routes, streamlining internal procedures.

The Antwerp–Madrid service will remain in place with three round trips per week in both directions.
