KTZ and Estonia discussed the development of the transit potential of the Middle Corridor.

Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) held a meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Estonia, led by Minister of Infrastructure Kuldar Leis. The parties discussed cooperation in rail transportation and the further development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), which is becoming strategically important for freight transit through Kazakhstan.

In the first ten months of 2025, rail freight volumes between Kazakhstan and Estonia reached 264,100 tonnes, an increase of 61.4% compared to the same period last year. Cargo delivery time from China to Europe via the Middle Corridor is 15-18 days, twice as fast as sea routes. The implementation of a digital multimodal transport corridor in partnership with PSA International ensures transparency of transit declarations and a unified document flow.

KTZ continues to enhance the route’s attractiveness to customers by offering stable rates, optimized delivery times, and customer-focused service. In the medium term, the company plans to increase cargo traffic along the Middle Corridor to 10 million tons, strengthening Kazakhstan’s position as a key transit hub between China and Europe.
