KTZ has confirmed its course towards digitalization, investment and expansion of the railway network.

The KTZ – Freight Transportation company took an active part in the annual conference of KazAPO and ANEK in Almaty, where the key topics were the development of transport and logistics partnerships, digitalization and strengthening of Kazakhstan’s position as a regional leader. Salamat Abzhaliyev, Deputy General Director for Marketing and Planning, announced the results of the first quarter: freight turnover amounted to 66.9 billion ton-kilometers (+7.2%), and exports to China grew by 9.8%, reaching 3.6 million tons.

Particular attention was paid to infrastructure development issues. KTZ confirmed the implementation of major projects – Dostyk-Moiynty, Almaty bypass line, Darbaza-Maktaaral – and participation in the program for the development of the trunk network until 2030, which provides for the modernization of 11 thousand km of tracks and the construction of 5 thousand km of new roads. The company is also developing an anti-crisis plan to protect the national rolling stock and proposes to use domestic rolling stock primarily on domestic routes.

Representatives of KTZ confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation with KazAPO, ANEK and business, focusing on digital solutions, expanding export potential and introducing modern technologies. Following the discussions, conference participants outlined joint steps to eliminate infrastructure bottlenecks, improve regulation and increase the efficiency of rail transportation.
