KTZ is shaping the future of Kazakhstan’s railway industry.

JSC NC KTZ is actively transforming its HR and operational policies in response to global changes in the transportation and logistics industry. Over the past five years, transit traffic has grown by 35%, while container traffic has increased fivefold. As part of these structural changes, the regional branches of KTZ – Freight Transportation LLC have been integrated into the Main Network Directorate, which has grown to 57,000 employees. A new branch, the Transportation Process Directorate, has been created, uniting wagon depots and dispatch centers.

Asel Aktau, Senior HR Business Partner of the Human Resources Management Department, noted that the company is focusing on mentoring and digital skills development. She added that KTZ collaborates with 23 universities and colleges, engaging students in practical training and learning modern digital systems such as SAP, ERP, multimodal transportation management platforms, and big data analytics. The company is already predicting the emergence of new professions, from intelligent supply chain architects to specialists in robotic systems and unmanned technologies.

KTZ is actively implementing digital solutions: it is creating a digital twin of the main network, implementing predictive analytics, developing locomotive optimization systems, and implementing drone projects. At the same time, the company is increasing the industry’s attractiveness: since 2021, employee salaries have increased 2.7-fold, the “Year of Blue-Collar Professions” program is being implemented, and systematic collaboration with educational institutions is being established to train a new generation of workers.
