Port Kuryk LLP signed key agreements with Chinese SPG Qingdao Port Group Co., Ltd within the framework of the first Kazakhstan-China transport forum, which was opened by the transport ministers of the two countries – Marat Karabayev and Liu Wei. The event brought together more than 300 representatives of the business community and logistics companies, and also included B2B and G2B meetings. The forum is expected to become an annual platform for the development of bilateral transport cooperation.

General Director of Port Kuryk LLP Serik Akhmetov and the head of Qingdao Port International Zhang Baohua signed a memorandum of understanding and an agreement on establishing partnership relations. The documents provide for joint work to increase the throughput capacity of the port of Kuryk, exchange experience in management and operations, build environmentally friendly and digital ports, train personnel and improve process efficiency.
SPG Qingdao Port Group unites five key port zones of China and owns 116 production berths. Cooperation with such a major player opens up new prospects for the Kuryk port within the framework of the development of the Trans-Caspian route and strengthening of transport links between Kazakhstan and China.
