Increasing traffic density in the Antwerp port area is causing increasing problems. Lineas’ LORO (Left Bank – Right Bank) line offers a turnkey solution to current congestion problems.
With increased economic activity and road works including the construction of the Oosterweel connection and the closure of the Beveren tunnel towards Ghent for a full year from July, the traffic congestion situation is worsening. This will inevitably lead to additional delays at the port approaches and related consequences.
Lineas offers an effective solution through its LORO line from the MainHub terminal. This daily shuttle provides a fast rail connection from the right bank via the Liefkenshoek tunnel to berths 1700 and 1742 at the Deurganck dock. Lineas, the only operator in Belgium offering this service, transports approximately 50,000 TEU per year, which equates to approximately 300,000 tons of cargo.
