In March 2024, Batumi Oil Terminal LLC resumed loading dark oil products produced at Kazakh plants onto Aframax tankers for shipment to Europe. It is planned to carry out loadings on a regular basis, which is associated with the expansion of transit routes for cargo transportation.
Shipment of large-tonnage shipments of dark oil products onto Aframax tankers allows reducing transportation costs for terminal clients, making the export of Kazakhstani cargo through Batumi more attractive and contributing to an increase in transshipment volumes. Oil tankers of the Aframax type, designed for the transportation of crude oil and petroleum products, provide efficient transport in an unlimited navigation area, having a deadweight of up to 114 thousand tons.
