PKP PLK CEO Piotr Wyborski noted that the renewal of the agreement reflects the countries’ shared responsibility for Rail Baltica and the development of a safe European rail network. Polish crews and equipment are ready to support the Lithuanian section if necessary, ensuring stable service on this key regional route. LTG Infra also signed a bilateral agreement with PKP PLK for the use of a diagnostic car for regular monitoring of the 1435 mm gauge infrastructure.

LTG Cargo actively uses the European gauge for freight transport, military mobility, and oversized cargo. The company operates intermodal services three times a week on the Kaunas–Lodz–Duisburg route, where the absence of border crossings saves time and reduces costs. Despite the absence of accidents over the past five years, the parties emphasize that maintaining the existing infrastructure and its regular monitoring are key to the sustainability of the future Rail Baltica cross-border network, which will connect the Baltic states with Poland and Europe.
