Maersk has opened its first warehouse in France, a 75,000 m² facility in the GLP Park Denain logistics park in the Hauts-de-France region. The new hub joins the company’s global network of over 500 warehouses worldwide and strengthens Maersk’s presence in a key European market. The warehouse was inaugurated on 23 April in the presence of local authorities and business partners, underlining the strategic importance of the project for the region.

The modern warehouse, which has received the BREEAM “Very Good” environmental certification, is equipped with 85 docks, a motor dock system, 11.4-metre beamed ceilings and separate logistics for light and heavy vehicles. It is located in one of Europe’s largest logistics hubs, a region that has been developing rapidly since the 1990s and today benefits from a convenient link between Paris, Brussels and London.

Maersk’s entry into Denain has become an economic boost for the entire Port du Hainaut region. The company has already created hundreds of jobs, including pickers, forklift drivers and loaders. In addition, the project has kicked off the revitalization of Usinor’s former industrial areas, transforming them into a leading logistics hub with the potential to attract other international players.
