Maersk updates services and introduces new measures for sustainable shipping.

Maersk has announced temporary changes to its sea and land services in Europe. As part of the AE11 service, the company’s vessels will call Vado Ligure instead of Genoa in August and September to minimize delays and maintain the regularity of the schedule. At the same time, the operator is launching a new CAX service, which will connect Antwerp with the port of Manzanillo in Panama. The first voyage on this route will be performed by Maersk Monte Alto on September 29, 2025.

The company is also strengthening its network in Southern Europe: operations have begun in the port of Milano (Sicily), and in Italy, additional Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) is being introduced due to rail repairs and difficulties in accessing the ports of Genoa and Venice. In Germany, a new digital container release system, Secure Release Order, will be introduced from October 1, 2025, which will replace PIN codes and ensure safer deliveries.

Maersk is also adapting to changes in the aviation segment: from September 1, 2025, a surcharge of €0.04 per kilogram will be introduced to cover the costs of implementing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at EU and UK airports. At the same time, there is an increase in demand for air transportation from Vietnam to the USA, where volumes in April 2025 increased by 62% compared to last year.
