A meeting was held in Shanghai between Yermek Koishibayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Logistics of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, and Lin Ji, Vice President of China COSCO Shipping Corporation. The parties summed up the results of cooperation and discussed further development of partnership in the field of transport and logistics services. The Kazakhstan company presented key infrastructure projects that strengthen the country’s position as a strategic transit hub on the East-West and North-South routes.
Particular attention was paid to the successful implementation of the joint Khorgos Gateway project, as well as the prospects for the development of new terminal capacities, multimodal transportation and expansion of cooperation in the Caspian region and Europe. Following the talks, it was emphasized that the partnership of JSC NC KTZ and COSCO Shipping plays an important role in the growth of Kazakhstan’s transit potential and the expansion of international logistics routes.
COSCO Shipping is one of the world’s largest logistics holdings headquartered in Shanghai. The company operates a fleet of more than 1,600 vessels, serves 594 ports in 144 countries and ranks 212th in the Fortune Global 500. As of the end of 2024, the holding’s revenue amounted to $33.29 billion, net profit – $6.87 billion, and the volume of container transportation reached 25.9 million TEU.
