Meeting on the development of the trans-Caspian transport route in Aktau: a new stage of cooperation and agreements on cargo transportation

In Aktau, the working group for the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor) convened alongside the general meeting of the Association of Legal Entities “International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route,” marking a crucial step in enhancing regional cooperation, as per Trend reports.

The meeting resulted in the signing of agreements pertaining to the organization of goods transportation along the TITR route, emphasizing collaboration on container trains using feeder vessels. Additionally, measures of responsibility were established for container transportation in direct international railway and water communication involving feeder vessels within the Caspian Sea ports. Discussions focused on fostering new avenues of cooperation among the participating countries, particularly in the realms of trade and transport. The Middle Corridor, serving as a vital transportation and trade link connecting Asia and Europe, spans across Central Asian nations like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, traversing the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey before reaching Europe. This alternative route strategically diversifies transportation options, promoting infrastructure and logistics project development within the region.
