Mibau Stema Group, a supplier of aggregates to the European construction and infrastructure sectors, is developing its own terminal project, covering approximately 5 hectares, in the Afrikahaven area of the Port of Amsterdam. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of the second quarter or beginning of the third quarter of 2026.

Until now, Mibau Stema Nederland B.V. operated in Amsterdam through a third-party terminal in Suezhaven, from where construction materials were distributed throughout the Netherlands by inland waterway and road transport. The launch of the new specialized terminal will allow the company to increase production capacity: from mid-2026, approximately 2 million tonnes of additional handling capacity will become available to meet the growing demand for high-quality construction materials.

The new facility will be equipped with a modern quay wall and a 13.5-meter deep water area, ensuring unimpeded access for Mibau Stema’s two newest self-unloading vessels, reducing CO₂ emissions by approximately 90% through lower fuel consumption. The Port of Amsterdam emphasized that the company’s investment confirms its long-term strategy to develop the city as an import hub and is in line with the port’s commitment to multimodality and sustainable development.
