Japanese cargo carrier Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) resumed flights to Frankfurt on September 4, 2025, after a break in 2010. The flights will be operated on Boeing B747-8Fs with stopovers in Anchorage and Amsterdam, as well as on the Tokyo-Anchorage-Frankfurt route. Frankfurt, along with Amsterdam, will now become one of the company’s key European hubs.

The return to the market coincided with the completion of the deal to fully integrate NCA into ANA Holdings, which took place on August 1. As a result of the merger, Japan’s largest combined air carrier was created, with both a passenger and cargo fleet, including eight Boeing B747-8Fs. This strengthening will expand capabilities on the Japan-Europe and Japan-US routes.

ANA Holdings CEO Koji Shibata noted that the combination of ANA’s infrastructure and NCA’s cargo network significantly increases the flexibility and resilience of the business. With the expansion of the runway at Tokyo Narita and the launch of flights to Frankfurt, the company expects to increase cargo capacity, profitability and customer service.
