Nurlan Sauranbayev presented Kazakhstan’s initiatives for developing the Middle Corridor at a forum in Tbilisi.

Kazakhstan’s Minister of Transport, Nurlan Sauranbayev, spoke at the session “The Middle Corridor: From Reliability to Influence” at the 5th Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, which brought together approximately 2,000 representatives of governments, businesses, and international organizations. Discussions focused on the development of transport and trade links, digital transformation, and investment opportunities in the region.

Sauranbayev emphasized that the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) is a strategic priority for Kazakhstan and a key factor in regional integration. The Minister announced Kazakhstan’s proposal to conclude an Intergovernmental Agreement on the TITR, which would establish uniform tariffs, terms, and service standards. He also noted plans to introduce a new ferry system on the Caspian Sea to improve the efficiency of maritime transport and expedite cargo handling.

As part of the forum, the head of the transport ministry met with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, where the parties discussed strengthening cooperation in the transport, maritime, and aviation sectors, as well as joint steps to digitalize logistics processes and develop trade and economic ties between the two countries.
