On September 3, PSA Italy announced the expansion of the Stuttgart Express rail service, which connects PSA Genova Pra’s deep-sea container terminal with Kornwestheim in southern Germany. Launched in May 2023, the service has proven to be an efficient solution for shippers.
The frequency of services has been increased from two to three times per week, which will speed up deliveries, improve reliability and reduce transport costs. The expansion of the service also supports the transition of freight flows from road to rail.
According to PSA Italy Managing Director Roberto Ferrari, the transition of container traffic between ports and the European hinterland to rail is an important step towards achieving the company’s climate goals. Stuttgart Express creates more opportunities for customers to organize environmentally friendly and cost-effective transport.
