Rail Baltic Estonia has announced the largest tender for the construction of the Rail Baltica main line, valued at up to €932 million. This project is strategically important for the European railway network, improving connections between the Baltic States, Finland and Central Europe. Rail Baltica will be a key element of the north-south transport corridor, promoting economic integration and increasing mobility.
The tender includes two contracts:
- The first for €394 million covers the construction of the track infrastructure between Ülemiste and Pärnu,
- the second for €332 million covers the design and construction of the Pärnu-Ikla section.
The development and construction phases are expected to last from 2025 to 2030.
Rail Baltica is designed to fundamentally change the transport system of the Baltics, opening up new trade routes and improving the movement of goods and passengers. The project will improve the accessibility of the region, reduce the load on roads and have a positive impact on the environment, strengthening the role of the Baltic States in the European railway network.
