Record growth in container turnover at the port of Poti.

The Port of Poti in Georgia closed 2025 with a record container throughput of 636,466 TEU, up 17% from 2024, according to APM Terminals Poti. The previous year, the port handled 545,297 TEU. This growth was accompanied by an increase in vessel calls: in 2025, the port received 362 container ships compared to 313 the year before, a 16% increase. APM Terminals Poti called this result unprecedented for the Black Sea port infrastructure.

Other transshipment routes showed mixed dynamics. General cargo handling decreased to 243,048 tons compared to 245,748 tons in 2024, while ferry cargo volume increased to 164,631 tons compared to 157,894 tons the year before, reflecting increased ferry traffic.

Automobile transportation also demonstrated stability: the terminal handled 18,871 containers of vehicles (compared to 18,509 in 2024), and total vehicle traffic reached 73,864 units, slightly exceeding the previous year’s figure (73,783). These results confirm the strengthening of the Port of Poti’s position as a key logistics hub on the Black Sea.
