From January to August 2024, Ukrainian seaports handled 66.8 million tons of cargo, which is significantly higher than the figures for the same period last year. In 2023, this figure was 37.7 million tons, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) reported.
The bulk of transshipment was made up of agricultural products, the volume of which reached 41.7 million tons. In August 2024, the ports handled 6.8 million tons of cargo, including 4 million tons of agricultural products exported to international markets.
For comparison, in 2021, over the same period, Ukrainian ports handled 91.7 million tons of cargo, and in 2020 – 106 million tons.
