The construction of the second track of the Dostyk-Moiynty railway line is nearing completion: 60% of the work has been completed so far. The project involves more than 1,000 people and 500 pieces of equipment. The work is being carried out under the supervision of Zhangeldy Asmiev, who is responsible for laying the road between Koktuma and Zhaipak.
The project includes the construction of a 93-meter bridge over Lake Zhamanty, and it is also planned to build about 100 similar structures and 260 culverts. These works include complex hydraulic engineering solutions and the reconstruction of automation and communication equipment, as well as the installation of supports for high-voltage lines. The bulk of the ground work has already been completed.
According to Mazhit Kuandykuly, General Manager of the Dostyk-Moiynty Railway Construction Department of NC KTZ, 515 kilometers of track and sleeper grid have been laid to date. After the launch of the second line, the capacity of the section will increase fivefold, to 60 trains per day.
