Turkey’s first ever floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) has arrived. The rig will commence operations in 2026 under a 20-year contract, doubling gas production at the Sakarya field in the Black Sea.
The vessel, acquired from BW Offshore, arrived from Singapore to Canakkale aboard Boskalis’ heavy lift vessel Vanguard. Following completion of technical works in Canakkale and activation in Filyos, the FPSO is expected to be moved to the field.
The rig’s dimensions are impressive: 300 m long, 56 m wide and 58 m high. The FPSO will be able to process up to 10 million cubic meters of gas per day, located 170 km offshore.
