During his visit to Georgia, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov met with the new Director General of Georgian Railway JSC Lasha Abashidze. The Azerbaijani side congratulated his colleague on his appointment and expressed confidence in further strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
The main focus of the talks was on improving the efficiency of international transport corridors passing through the territory of Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as improving the logistics of cargo transportation in the East-West-East direction.
The key role of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line and the BTKI Railways joint venture in attracting cargo flow to the Middle Corridor and further developing the transit potential of the region was separately discussed.
