A regular meeting of the Logistics and Transportation Committee was held via videoconference, where the draft Program for the Development of Railway Transport in Kazakhstan until 2029 was discussed.
General Director of KazAPO Saltanat Adambaeva pointed out the absence in the draft plan of an analytical forecast of the state of freight rolling stock, the need for freight cars and the development of freight bases. She also emphasized the need to include new infrastructure projects, taking into account changes in implementation deadlines for 2025-2030, and analyze traffic volumes for a five-year period.
Chairman of the Logistics and Transportation Committee of the NCE RK “Atameken” Bakytbek Kadirov stated the need to approve the draft program in accordance with the requirements of the State Planning System. The meeting participants decided to send a letter to the government recommending that the Ministry of Transport carry out work to systematize the program or postpone its consideration until the end of the year for a comprehensive analysis with the participation of experts and stakeholders.
