In 2024, the port of Kuryk handled about two million tons of cargo. The largest part of the transshipment was rail cargo – 1,150,600 tons, road transportation reached 781,300 tons. The grain terminal handled 25,900 tons of grain. In total, the port of Kuryk received and processed 1,957,800 tons of various cargo during the year.
The ports of the Caspian Sea continue to play a key role in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), which contributes to the constant growth of cargo transshipment volumes. The goods handled include oil, metals, chemicals, coal, grain and fertilizers, as well as a wide range of imported goods such as food, construction materials and industrial equipment.
In addition, goods including electronics, textiles, chemical products and various types of equipment are in transit through Kuryk. The growth of transshipment at the port continues to confirm its strategic importance for international trade.
