Tokayev noted that in 2024, TITR traffic volumes increased by 62% to 4.5 million tons, with a further 2% increase observed this year. Kazakhstan is working with its international partners to eliminate bottlenecks and implement a single long-term tariff along the route, which will improve efficiency and ensure uninterrupted supply. According to the president, the goal is to increase traffic volumes to 10 million tons in the coming years.

The head of state also emphasized the importance of developing port infrastructure. A container hub is being built in Aktau, and a modern cargo terminal is planned for the Azerbaijani port of Alat with the participation of foreign partners, including Chinese ones. In addition, the creation of a new Trans-Caspian ferry system is being discussed, which will strengthen the region’s export potential and ensure stable growth in freight traffic between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
