During a video conference on February 15, 2024, an exchange of views on the activities of each organization and a discussion of prospects for cooperation in the field of customs management took place between the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA and the European Regional Office for Institutional Development (ROID).
The Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, Mr. Asavbaev A.A., emphasized that 13 out of 14 customs administrations of the TRACECA countries are members of ROIR. The parties discussed the possibility of holding joint advanced training courses and seminars for customs administrations of the participating countries of the TRACECA corridor, taking into account the experience of previously conducted courses under the auspices of ROID. Particular attention was paid to simplifying and harmonizing customs transit procedures through digitalization in the region. An agreement was reached on the exchange of best practices in border crossings and experience for the development of the transit system in the region, as well as the systematic exchange of information between customs.
