Undergoing a strategic transformation in 2022, the TransFER Vienna–Scandinavia has been rebranded as TransFER Linz–Scandinavia–Wels, signaling a shift in its route and operations. The updated connection now travels overland through Germany (Rheinkamp near Duisburg) and Denmark, aligning with the TransFER Linz–Duisburg–Wels route up to Rheinkamp. RCG operates the service with three weekly round trips to the Danish border, providing a versatile solution for transporting various goods, with a focus on rails and paper.
With a transit time of approximately three days from Linz to Malmö, the TransFER emerges as a swift and reliable option for wagonload transport to Scandinavia. The direct rail link to the southern Swedish port region eliminates the need for intermediate loading onto ships, enhancing efficiency. RCG not only facilitates transportation to Scandinavia but also opens up connectivity options in Northern and Western Europe. The Rheinkamp hub serves as a pivotal point for adding volumes to or distributing volumes from Scandinavia to Germany, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
