The Zangezur Corridor will pass through the Syunik region of Armenia, connecting mainland Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Region and providing access to Turkey. Thus, a new direct transport route through the South Caucasus will be created, significantly strengthening regional connectivity.

The idea of ​​the corridor arose after the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020. Ankara emphasizes that its implementation will be an important contribution to the development of the region’s transit potential and strengthening Turkey’s position in international logistics.
