Ukraine signed a Memorandum with the European Railway Agency (ERA) aimed at integrating the Ukrainian railway system into the European space. The agreement provides for close cooperation in matters of technical harmonization of the railway systems of Ukraine and the EU, as well as expert and technical support for adaptation to European standards.
The parties agreed to work on the harmonization of safety standards and regulations in the field of railway transport, ensuring the interoperability of the Ukrainian and European railway systems.
In addition, the Memorandum provides for the creation of a steering committee that will determine priorities and develop step-by-step plans to achieve the common goal – the integration of Ukraine into the single European railway space.
