This summer, Ukrzaliznytsia, together with Duisburger Hafen Aktiengesellschaft, plans to launch regular container and piggyback trains between Ukraine and the port of Duisburg. A corresponding memorandum was signed, opening up new opportunities for transporting goods by rail to EU countries.
This initiative will allow Ukrzaliznytsia to provide a new door-to-door service to customers from Ukraine and Europe, ensuring direct delivery of goods directly to their destinations. The first train from the Liski CFTS terminal to the port of Duisburg will start operating in the near future.
Cargo transported by the new service will include all types of cargo that can be transported by rail or road transport. This innovation will also help reduce the impact on the environment, which is an important advantage compared to other modes of transport.
