Uzbekistan has approved a large-scale plan for the development of its railway infrastructure through 2030, including the construction of over 150 km of new lines and the electrification of 182 km of existing lines. Following an industry meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, additional measures to strengthen the railway network were also outlined.

In the coming years, the country will modernize 27 existing stations and renew approximately 1,000 km of track, as well as launch 15 new routes in addition to the 40 already operating. These initiatives are aimed at expanding capacity and improving service quality.

Particular attention is being paid to the development of high-speed rail service, including the accelerated commissioning of the 102 km Navoi-Bukhara line. The launch of this section is expected to significantly reduce freight delivery times and speed up passenger travel, strengthening regional connectivity.
