Stoller emphasized that air cargo is key to Germany\u2019s export strength and requires urgent measures to improve competitiveness. According to BDL, in 2023 alone, Germany will lose approximately 62,000 tons of air cargo to foreign airports, compared to an increase of 206,000 tons by 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Today, a third of German freight forwarders prefer to operate through foreign airports, where fees are significantly lower: approximately \u20ac1,500 per flight in Frankfurt versus \u20ac72 in Istanbul and zero in Li\u00e8ge.
