This change is part of a broader effort by both operators to respond to higher passenger demand and improve connectivity between key cities in both countries.<\/p>\n<p>A new direct daytime service will run twice daily in both directions on the Leipzig\u2013Wroc\u0142aw\u2013Krak\u00f3w\u2013Przemy\u015bl route. One of the trains will extend further east to Przemy\u015bl, located near the Ukrainian border. This will be the first time that Leipzig gains a direct long-distance rail link to southern Poland and to the Polish-Ukrainian border.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/gruzingeo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/f83c853341b2e10f.jpg\" alt=\"DB and PKP to expand cross-border services by over 50% in December.\" class=\"wp-image-15359\" title=\"Europe DB and PKP to expand cross-border services by over 50% in December.\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Deutsche Bahn AG\u00a0<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Connections from cities such as Munich, Nuremberg, and Frankfurt am Main to Wroc\u0142aw are expected to see reduced travel times of around two hours, made possible through synchronized transfers in Leipzig. Chemnitz and Dresden will also be linked to the new route via intermediate stops in northern Saxony.<\/p>\n<p>New overnight services are also planned. A Eurocity night train will connect Berlin with Przemy\u015bl via Wroc\u0142aw and Krak\u00f3w, and another will run between Berlin and Che\u0142m via \u0141\u00f3d\u017a and Warsaw. The existing \u201cChopin\u201d night train between Munich and Warsaw will be extended with additional carriages operating to Krak\u00f3w and Przemy\u015bl, enabling a direct connection from southern Germany to southern Poland.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"810\" src=\"https:\/\/gruzingeo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/b1770dbf89525856.jpg\" alt=\"DB and PKP to expand cross-border services by over 50% in December.\" class=\"wp-image-15360\" title=\"Europe DB and PKP to expand cross-border services by over 50% in December.\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Deutsche Bahn AG\u00a0<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The journey time between Leipzig and Wroc\u0142aw is set at around three and a half hours.
