The volume of transportation by all modes of transport amounted to 649.6 million tons (+10.1%), freight turnover reached 324.5 billion ton-km (+12.1%). Passenger traffic increased to 1.08 billion people (+10.7%), passenger turnover \u2014 to 51.5 billion p-km (+10.7%).<\/p>\n<p>The largest growth in freight turnover was shown by Atyrau (+44.9%), Zhetisu (+42.7%) and Mangistau (+28.8%) regions, as well as Abay (+28.3%). In passenger transportation, Almaty (+25.4%), Shymkent (+24.2%) and Mangistau region (+20.8%) were the leaders.<\/p>\n<p>By mode of transport, railways remain the leader \u2014 260.4 million tons of cargo (+11.9%), while passenger traffic decreased by 6.3%. Road transport provided an 11% increase in passenger transportation, and the pipeline sector added 17.3%.
