At the same time, container transit along the Middle Corridor increased sharply to 9,849 TEU, which is 173% more than in the same period of 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway section showed particularly impressive growth, with 9,393 TEU transported, almost 59 times more than a year earlier. The seaports of Poti and Batumi also recorded growth: 375,654 TEU (+19.5%) and about 7 million tons of bulk cargo were handled.<\/p>\n<p>Amid global changes in logistics and growing geopolitical tensions, the Middle Corridor is strengthening its position as a key transit artery between Europe and Asia, and Georgia is actively strengthening its role in new supply chains.<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the first six months of 2025, cargo turnover through Georgia\u2019s international airports increased by 57.6% and reached about 16,500 tons.
