HHLA will receive a controlling stake and will develop the facility through its subsidiary railway company METRANS. The project is currently awaiting approval from the Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee.<\/p>\n<p>The new terminal is being built on the basis of a former grain complex and is already undergoing large-scale modernization. The start of container operations is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. The facility will be connected to the broad and European gauge, which makes it a key logistics link between Ukraine, Slovakia and Hungary. At the first stage, the terminal\u2019s capacity will be about 100,000 TEU per year, with the possibility of increasing as demand grows.<\/p>\n<p>HHLA has been operating in Ukraine for over 20 years and manages a container terminal in Odessa, as well as the UIC rail operator.
