This ambitious project combines a modern airport with an initial passenger capacity of 40 million people, with the prospect of expanding to 100 million, a high-speed rail network and new road connections. The airport includes two 3.8 km long runways located 2.5 km apart, as well as a central terminal connected to the railway station and bus station.<\/p>\n<p>CPK will become a strategic transport hub, opening up direct connections for Central and Eastern Europe to Western Europe, dominated by major hubs such as Heathrow, Frankfurt and Charles de Gaulle. This will significantly reduce the region\u2019s dependence on the German rail system and western airports, and will strengthen Poland\u2019s role as a transfer point between Western Europe, the Baltics and the Balkans. The project also includes the new Y-line, a 480-kilometre high-speed railway connecting Warsaw, \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, Wroc\u0142aw and Pozna\u0144, where trains will reach speeds of up to 350 km\/h, reducing travel times, for example, between Warsaw and \u0141\u00f3d\u017a to 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The CPK project is financed by a combination of public investment, bonds and private capital, with construction tenders worth \u20ac2 billion already issued, including for a new interchange on the A2 motorway and the longest railway tunnel in Poland. The CPK covers 2,600 hectares, more than twice the area of \u200b\u200bHeathrow Airport, and 90% of the land has already been acquired.
