The total value of the deal will be up to $3.2 billion. The new ships will be equipped with dual-fuel engines running on liquefied natural gas (LNG).<\/p>\n<p>The order is divided between two shipyards: South Korea\u2019s Hanwha Ocean, which will build six ships for $1.77 billion, and China\u2019s Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI), a subsidiary of CSSC, which will build five ships for about $1.4 billion. The average cost of one container ship will be $265-295 million. Delivery is scheduled for 2028, which will increase Evergreen\u2019s fleet by 264 thousand TEU.<\/p>\n<p>With this order, Evergreen\u2019s order book now includes 59 ships with a total capacity of more than 820 thousand TEU, which is 46% of the company\u2019s current fleet.
