The ceremony took place on the premises of the warehouse and included a traditional ribbon cutting and the Japanese ritual of \u201ckagami-biraki\u201d \u2013 breaking a sake barrel, symbolising a successful start to operations. The event was attended by Chairman and CEO of Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. Hiroki Harada, who travelled from Japan especially to attend the opening.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1114\" height=\"652\" src=\"https:\/\/gruzingeo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/bottroplogistikanlage_ausenansicht_vogelperspektive_copyright-prologis_0.png\" alt=\"Yusen Logistics has opened a modern logistics centre in Bottrop.\" class=\"wp-image-10839\" title=\"Intermodal Yusen Logistics has opened a modern logistics centre in Bottrop.\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Yusen Logistics<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The centre, covering an area of \u200b\u200bover 100,000 square metres, offers up to 50,000 pallet spaces, including a mezzanine of 3,700 square metres. The two distribution centres are equipped with 88 loading docks, parking for 25 trucks and 164 cars. The facility is built with advanced environmental standards in mind: CO\u2082-neutral materials and a 3.6 MW solar power plant have been installed on the site of a former steel production facility. This will reduce CO2 emissions by 7,000 tons annually. The space is also designed for employee comfort and complies with Well Standards for healthy workplaces.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1119\" height=\"838\" src=\"https:\/\/gruzingeo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/bottroplogistikanlage_innenansicht_mezzanine-mit-begruenung_copyright-prologis.png\" alt=\"Yusen Logistics has opened a modern logistics centre in Bottrop.\" class=\"wp-image-10840\" title=\"Intermodal Yusen Logistics has opened a modern logistics centre in Bottrop.\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Yusen Logistics<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The logistics center has become a key link in the supply chain of Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. With 75 daily shipments and receipts, it optimizes processes and reduces the environmental impact.
