After almost two years of construction at the Estonian shipyard Baltic Workboats AS, the vessel was delivered by sea to Germany. The 29.4-meter-long boat is equipped with an environmentally friendly hybrid engine with powerful 2 x 500 kW electric motors, which allow the vessel to move on electric traction for up to two hours at a speed of seven knots. After completing sea trials and training the crew, it will replace the outdated patrol boat.<\/p>\n<p>The WS1 boat is the first stage of the renewal of the Hamburg Water Police fleet. The second hybrid boat WS3 \u201cB\u00fcrgermeister Weichmann\u201d will arrive at the port soon, where it will undergo testing and commissioning together with WS1. The third vessel is expected to be delivered in 2025.
