The project will reduce the use of road transport in favour of rail transport, improving intermodal solutions and increasing the sustainability of transport between the port and hinterland. The new service will connect PSA\u2019s terminals with Combinant\u2019s terminal, which in turn will provide access to important logistics hubs in Europe via a rail connection to Duisburg.<\/p>\n<p>According to the new agreement, from November 2024, trains will operate on the Combinant-Duisburg route, connecting Antwerp with cities such as Warsaw, Budapest, Vienna, Ploiesti, Starozagora, as well as with important European hubs including Milan, Barcelona and Madrid. The collaboration also includes the introduction of electric trucks (eTrucks) to further reduce carbon emissions.<\/p>\n<p>Edouard Tach, Managing Director of PSA Belgium, noted that this partnership is in line with the company\u2019s strategy to expand multimodal solutions and improve connections with hinterland.
