The construction permit has already been received, and the project will be implemented in four stages.<\/p>\n<p>The construction will include the creation of a complex of southern port gates with an area of \u200b\u200babout 40 hectares, of which 32 hectares will be occupied by the water area. The project includes the construction of a 1.3-km-long southern dam, a 1-km-long northern dam, a 700-metre berth and a 120-metre-long ferry berth. The water area will be 3.5 metres deep, and part of the southern dam will be accessible for walks.<\/p>\n<p>The first stage of construction will include the construction of the southern dam and part of the northern dam, the second stage will include the construction of a pier, the third stage will include the creation of an embankment, and the final stage will include the second part of the northern dam.<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Port of Klaipeda is expanding and will begin developing a new 100-hectare area in the south of the harbour.
