According to the relevant department, this growth trend became particularly noticeable after 2022: while shipment volumes in 2019 were 759,000 tons, in 2020 – 783,000 tons, in 2021 – 586,000 tons, in 2022 the figure rose to 1.485 million tons, in 2023 – to 2.764 million tons, and in 2024 – to 4.484 million tons. By the end of 2025, 4.119 million tons of cargo had been transported along the route.

Significant growth is also observed in the container segment. In 2025, approximately 77,000 TEUs were transported along the Trans-Caucasian International Transport Route (TITR), and this figure is expected to increase to 300,000 TEUs by 2029. The route is currently a vital transport artery connecting China, Kazakhstan, the Caucasus countries, Turkey, and Europe. Its competitiveness has been enhanced by a reduction in delivery times from 28–32 to 13–17 days, simplification of customs procedures, and the introduction of a “single-window” approach, ensuring more transparent and reliable logistics.

Participating countries continue to modernize infrastructure along the corridor. In Kazakhstan, dredging of the Kuryk port has been completed, and similar work is planned for the port of Aktau. A multifunctional terminal, Sarzha, with a capacity of 5 million tons is being built in Kuryk port in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Ports Group, and a container hub has been commissioned in Aktau. A Kazakhstani terminal with a capacity of 120,000 TEUs has been launched in the Georgian port of Poti. At the same time, the railway infrastructure is being modernized: in 2025, projects covering 911 km were completed, including the construction of second tracks on the Dostyk-Moiynty section and a bypass line around Almaty station. The route’s development will continue within the framework of joint roadmaps of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, as well as a new intergovernmental agreement to further strengthen the Trans-Caucasian Transport Route.

Over the past seven years, shipments along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) have increased nearly fivefold, from 0.8 million tons to 4.5 million tons per year.
