This is the company\u2019s first intermodal terminal in the country and an important step in strengthening METRANS\u2019s position in the region. The terminal occupies an area of \u200b\u200bapproximately 3.5 hectares, expandable to 82 hectares, and provides simultaneous storage capacity of up to 750 TEUs.<\/p>\n<p>Post-regulatory approvals, the terminal will be integrated into METRANS\u2019s existing network. The company plans to launch up to three container trains per week between Budapest and Arad. This new service will allow customers from Bucharest and eastern Romania to utilize the entire rail logistics chain via Arad to METRANS\u2019s Budapest hub in Csepel, with further access to the North Sea ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven, and Rotterdam, as well as the Adriatic ports of Koper and Rijeka.<\/p>\n<p>The integration of Arad South also opens up new opportunities for transportation between the hinterland of Europe and the Port of Constanta for both export and import flows.
