Rail traffic between the Iberian Peninsula and the rest of Europe currently depends on the Atlantic and Mediterranean routes, with no alternative corridor in case of disruption.<\/p>\n<p>The project would complete the Algeciras or Sines \u2013 Madrid \u2013 Zaragoza \u2013 Toulouse axis, creating a direct connection to central and northern Europe. According to the alliance, this would increase freight capacity, support modal shift from road to rail and strengthen network resilience.<\/p>\n<p>The group is not requesting immediate construction.
